The "Niceties" ClauseMembers of this site are selected with consideration taken from the references and reviews they receive from other members on the list or their past partners. One of the things we consider is conduct and civility towards other players - members are expected to be respectful towards each other and to the administrators. Abusive language, harassment, or threats are grounds for immediate termination and blacklisting.

How do I join?To apply for membership, simply fill out our membership form and wait for confirmation. This process should take no longer than 72 hours. From there, it is up to us to decide if you'll be accepted and into which category (Gold or Silver) you'll be placed.

RP Standards• When writing out of character, using a form of OOC indication is necessary. This can be denoted by text within parentheses, or plainly stating "ooc," such as ooc// or ooc||.
• Conversely, BIC denotes back in character, and can be used in the same way as "ooc," such as bic// or bic||. • God-moding and powerplaying is entirely unacceptable. A player's character is their own to utilize and control. • Write in past-tense and third-person. • Don't let the in-game drama leak out into a fight between partners. It's a story and a game. Treat it as such. |
Is there an age requirement?Absolutely. We do not accept members that are under the age of eighteen (18). Roleplays often have adult themes and content, and more advanced and/or literate players are less likely to have limitations on these themes, as they are a part of life.
For both ethical and legal reasons, we do not advise minors to join, as these are themes that can only be played between consenting adult members. |
ForumsWhile we do have forums here at RPGold, they are a members-only perk and are to be utilized as such. Disrespect among our members and inappropriate conduct will be not be tolerated under any circumstances.
No warning will be given if misconduct occurs and offenders will be immediately blocked from the forums. |
What are the genres you list?We list a total of 10 genres on our site:
• Adventure (quests and exploits, hazardous and exciting) • Age of Sail (generally 17-1800s, Pirate/Naval-based) • Animals (personified animals, anthropomorphic characters) • Fandom (a fanfiction set in an already-created verse) • Fantasy (vampires, faeries, magic, etc.) • Historical (any setting set before the present time) • Horror (dark themes surrounding fear and suspense) • Modern (any setting or odd pairing set in the present) • Science Fiction (inter-galactic and future-verse) • Slice of Life (a glimpse into daily life) |
Community StandardsThis is a haven for writers who have worked tirelessly to achieve a certain level of expression and literacy. Members are here to find other players on their level - we request that these lists are not abused, and that only members of these respective lists, or players meeting advanced-lit and literate standards contact list-members. This is a matter of respect towards the players.

How do you decide who is accepted?By reading through your application, we can get a pretty good idea on whether or not you're a good fit for our site. We look at post length, how long you've been roleplaying, character development, and recommendations from other players, among other things. However, the biggest helper in our decision is your writing sample. It's the best indication we have of your skill. For a full list on our parameters and process, click here.

Falsifying ApplicationsWe will not tolerate false information on membership applications. Fill your the application honestly and to the best of your ability. The writing sample should be recent, original, and have been written by the applicant.
